In The Night Garden Live!

If you read my blog post a few months ago about The Gruffalo Live you'll know how much Boo loves shows. She is show mad! We have been to quite a few over her short 2.5yr life span and I can safely say that In The Night Garden Live! is one of the very best we've seen.

We have in fact now been to see it twice, it's that good!

We took Boo last summer to see the Ninky-Nonk show in Richmond Deer Park with my Mum and Dad, who are also avid Night Garden fans (it never fails to send my Dad into a blissful sleep). It was the first show Boo ever saw, and it was the most magical experience that had all of us adults teary eyed.

We met both Iggle Piggle and Upsy Daisy last year, it's £15 per character and includes a photo!

This year we were all keen to book again, even though Boo has grown out of watching it religiously every night, she still knows and loves the characters. So we went yesterday to Richmond Deer Park again (this venue is so easy to get to and has parking immediately opposite!) to see the Pinky Ponk show (nice to have 2 different shows to choose from).

It was a huge hit with Boo once again and she had a wonderful time! As did all us soppy adults! 
The show was great, just the right length of time and fast moving so no time to get bored and included all the main characters (as did the Ninky Nonk show). 
The costumes, puppets, and stage design are all absolutely fantastic and bring the whole thing to life so well.

Last year we went the whole hog, with Premium seating (anywhere in the front 2 rows), the goody bag (great selection of toys, books, DVD, a hand puppet and a light-up windmill), and we booked to meet both Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle.

This year, as it was our second time, we just booked standard seating at £17.50 a ticket, we didn't book to meet the characters and everyone refused to buy me...um, I mean Boo, a goody bag.

Last year we were on the front row and it was ace being so close to the action. this year we were on the back row and had a really great view of the whole set, so really I think that wherever you sit the auditorium is really well designed to give you a decent view.

Boo kept saying that she was going to cuddle Upsy Daisy (I think she remembered it from last time) and thankfully DaddyBear easily caved and we bought our Meet the Character ticket on the day. This meant we had to wait an hour after the show as we had not pre-booked, but we had a picnic while we waited and the timing actually worked out perfectly! And seeing her little face when she met her was well worth the £15 (of DaddyBear's money!).

In The Night Garden is a bedtime favourite of so many young children (and their thankful parents!). The gentle music, the bizarre, lovable characters, the soothing tones of Derek Jacobi; what's not to love?!

So if your little one is a fan, I implore you to treat them to this unforgettable experience, seeing their fave tv show brought to life! Just magical!
