An Ode to DaddyBear

We've just celebrated 8 years together, what with that, and Fathers' Day around the corner, I thought it would be appropriate to write a little post dedicated to my better (in some ways!) half, DaddyBear:

DaddyBear we love you,

you look after us so well,

uncomplaining, always caring,

we're the crab and you're the shell.

Always manically happy,

you let nothing bother you,

it's like water off a duck's back,

if only everyone were like that too!

Doting Daddy to our girl,

our manically happy Boo,

you're crazy, playful and loving,

she couldn't wish for a better Daddy than you!

Dedicated Newcastle fan,

despite their terrible play,

you still teach Boo to shout 'Toon, Toon...!'

and 'Howay the lads, Howay!'

Years you waited for me,

to make up my mind and grow up,

thank heavens you did, who knows where I'd be?

if you'd written me off and given up.

Beautiful in your own special way,

hairy, ginger and freckly, with specs, 

but I wouldn't have you any other way,

(well, unless you could look like  Becks??)

Everyday I count my blessings,

how lucky I am to have you,

you gave me Boo, and so much more,

you've made all of my dreams come true.

A huge lover of all kinds leftovers,

'floor pizza' was a favourite at uni, 

you proposed 'cause I let you eat leftover chips, 

you really are a goony! 

Revolting habits aside, 

I love you with all of my heart,

and I hope and pray that come what may, 

we shall never be apart.

Soz that was a tad soppy, but sometimes you need a bit of sap in your life!
