Pregnancy Poem

My pregnancy poem...

(which I will be adding to each week)

Poppy Seed I love you,
I've just found out you're there,
When the word 'pregnant' popped up on the screen,
My heart lifted high into the air,

Sesame Seed I love you,
I just want to tell the world,
That you're4zz inside me growing strong,
I wonder, are you a boy or a girl?

Lentil I love you,
But boy, you're making me sick!
Much worse than with your sister,
You'd better stop this quick!

Blueberry I love you,
We met the midwife today,
She took my blood and pee to test,
This gets more glamourous every day!

Kidney Bean I love you,
We booked our scan today,
In 4 weeks time we'll see you,
That feels such a long way away!

Little Grape I love you,
I hope you're safe in there,
Your big sister has chicken pox,
It's given me quite a scare.

Green Olive I love you,
You're officially a fetus now,
In the next 3 weeks you'll double in size,
My magic body will accommodate you somehow!

Little Fig I love you,
I think I felt you move last night,
I know it's early but I'm sure it was you,
Bouncing about, bold and bright!

Lil Lime I love you,
Today was the big day!
We saw you waving, kicking and bouncing,
We can't wait for you to come out to play!

Pea Pod I love you,
Since we saw you I just want more!
My impatience is really starting to kick in,
This week has dragged and been a real bore!

Lemon I love you,
I've been clearing out your bedroom,
Daddy still has lots of boxes to empty,
Before it's ready to paint and groom!

Apple I love you,
This weekend we're going to decorate,
Brilliant White and Banana Yellow,
A bright, sunshine and rainbow room we want to create!

Avocado I love you,
We had our 16 week check today,
We got to hear your little heartbeat,
"I can hear my baby!", Boo said, "Hooray!"

Turnip I love you,
Today we're off shopping for things for you,
A highchair, some pictures, a mobile,
And Boo wants to find you your own "Baby Duvet" too!

Bell Pepper I love you,
I feel grumpy and exhausted this week,
I've been snapping at your Daddy and your sister,
Poor things, I just feel like I've reached my peak!

Heirloom Tomato I love you,
This week I feel much happier and full of joy!
We get to see you again on Friday!
And find out if you're a girl or a boy!!!

Banana I love you,
We found out that you're a girl!!!
Everything looked perfect at the scan,
You looked beautiful performing twists and twirls!

Carrot I love you,
Last week we took you to Disneyland!
You helped us skip all the queues!
We can't wait to go back again with you in hand!

Spaghetti Squash I love you,
Today you're 22 weeks grown,
So a maximum of 20 weeks to wait,
Till we have you in our arms, our own.

Large Mango I love you,
I've started going to pregnancy pilates,
An hour and a half where it's just me and you,
Having our own private party.

Ear of Corn I love you,
You are the wriggliest little thing!
All day long you kick and flip,
Each movement makes my heart sing!

Lil Swede I love you,
I'm starting to feel enormous!
Waddling and stomping everywhere,
But it will all be worth it when you're here with us!

Large Red Cabbage I love you,
This pregnancy is really exhausting,
Running around after your sister, and doing all the housework,
Leaves not much time for resting!

Cauliflower I love you,
You measured a little large today,
You're guna be a beefcake just like your sister,
Poor Mummy when labour comes our way!

Aubergine I love you,
We've reached our third trimester!
You're getting huge, as am I!
I just want to be a couch potato and fester!

Butternut Squash I love you,
We've been getting your clothes down from the loft,
You're sister has loved "sorting" them all out,
They're so tiny, cute and ever so soft!

Cabbage I love you,
We had a 4D scan at the weekend!
You are breech and snuggled in the placenta,
And too cute to comprehend!

Coconut I love you,
At the weekend we had our Babymoon,
Swimming, shopping, eating, relaxing,
It flew by much too soon!

Long kale I love you,
I've been trying to get you to turn,
It felt like you had yesterday,
But now your head's back up again firm.

Pineapple I love you,
We've been getting ready for Christmas!
Trimming the tree, looking ahead to next year,
When you'll be here doing it all with us!

Cantaloupe Melon I love you,
You have turned and are head down!!
The midwife's told me to get my bag ready,
Baby Bean is coming to town!!

Honeydew Melon I love you,
Your Moses basket is ready and clean,
Your sister's been trying out your pram,
And packing your first outfit, baby Bean!

Romaine Lettuce I love you,
Today is Christmas Eve!!!
We've been carolling and celebrating your Granny's birthday,
Now Santa's on his way- WE BELIEVE!

Swiss Chard I love you,
It's the last day of 2014!
You're full term now, getting ready to appear,
And we cannot wait to meet you baby Bean!

Lil Leek I love you,
Your big sister is now 3!
As she blew out the candles on her cake I heard her say;
'I wish my baby would come out now to meet me!'

Watermelon I love you,
I'm being plagued with twinges and contractions,
But you're still not budging and I'm very fed up,
I'm in need of lots of distractions!

Baby I love you,
You're here 5 days early!
We're all besotted and totally in love,
You are one beautiful girly!

  1. Very cute poem. Funny how everyone measures their growth by fruit and vegetables. Never seen it expressed like this though! You'll have plenty of fun with rhymes when it gets to the really obscure big veg, haha! - #BlogBumpClub

    1. No I know 15 weeks is very early, but I'm an impatient freak and it's keeping me busy while we wait for baby! Also my hubs is rubbish at painting so I had to do it and I didn't want to wait till I was too big! Good luck with yours! X

  4. This is such a lovely idea! Depending on which site you read you do get some odd fruit and veg the bigger they get though...one of my recent ones was a 'spaghetti squash' (completely new to me)! x

    1. Thank you! No I haven't been brave enough to rhyme the veg names! Some of them would be very tricky! X
